Not all advice is good advice!

Often people are giving you advice based on their own experience (or lack thereof) and/or opinions. Often they’ve never even had experience in the area they’re trying to give you advice about, to their advice will not be that applicable or helpful to you. Or sometimes people are coming from a place of fear, so their well-meaning advice might have the intention of keeping you safe, but will have the effect of keeping you small.

So we encourage you to be selective about the people you take advice from. We recommend taking advice only from people who are already succeeding in the field that you hope to be succeeding in. They are already in the arena, they are doing the work, and they can speak honestly to their experience and how it can help you.

Anyone else has the potential to negatively impact your journey before you even begin, or give you advice that doesn’t apply or will hold you back.

Be selective about the people you let into your...

"Doing everything 'right' does not equal happiness."

― Monick Halm.

Maybe you can relate… My parents always told me I could be ANYTHING I wanted ...so long as it was a doctor, lawyer, professor, or engineer. They meant well. That was their definition of success.

Being a “good girl”, I dutifully graduated from an Ivy League law school. But as a lawyer, the slow itch of dissatisfaction started creeping up.

Truth be told? Before long, I was full-out miserable.

But I did what I thought was “right” until one Tuesday morning, in seemingly “perfect” health - it happened:

The crippling pain.
The frantic drive to the hospital.
The panic about what was wrong with me.

And then? A 9-day stay in the hospital and 30 days at home to recover from an emergency appendix rupture.

But here’s the truly tragic part- when I was first told that I had appendicitis and would have a hospital stay plus at least 30 days at home afterward to recover, I didn't feel...

How to Get Yourself Unstuck And Flowing

Are you in a rut? Going through the motions? Checking off the to-do list just because that’s what you’re supposed to do?

If reading that sentence made your heart sink in recognition, or you breathed a sigh of relief that someone else said it, know this: you are not alone.

We can feel overwhelmed at any time because we’re doing and balancing a lot. But there’s good news. We’re here for you. We’ve been right there in your shoes. And we’ll be right here, with our hands reaching out until you’re feeling fabulous, fun, and right back on track.

But where do we start?

When I feel stuck, I focus on things that I know have a HUGE impact, three of which are listed below:

1. Make time for daily pleasure breaks

Moments of fun, delight, and/or self-care never fail to revive me. When we're in a major rut, it's easy to forget to do this (or gasp! think we're too busy), but that's when we need pleasure breaks the most!

2. Choose a new,...

One of the main things we'll do as well during our virtual party is help you bust through the myths that most people believe around clarity, success, and goals. These are the myths that keep these folks stuck with the same problems year after year.

These old-world myths say:

Myth 1: Make a long list of goals and make sure they’re S.M.A.R.T.

“People are remarkably bad at remembering long lists of goals. I learned this at a professional level when trying to get my high-performance coaching clients to stay on track; the longer their lists of to-dos and goals, the more overwhelmed and off-track they got. Clarity comes with simplicity.”

Sure, you can sunbathe in your comfort zone for a little bit, have a glass of wine there, check out the scenery, and walk around for a little while. But just like a vacation spot, your comfort zone is not meant to be lived in.

Why?

Because nothing you want lives within your comfort zone.

In order to achieve the levels of greatness you desire, in order to go after your biggest dreams and goals, and in order for you to achieve financial freedom, you need to step outside of your comfort zone! You need to take the leap! You need to go after what you want!

And yes, goddess, it may not be easy, but I promise you it will be worth it.

Your comfort zone may be a lovely place to hang out temporarily, but if you want those big dreams you have to actually come to fruition, you have to get uncomfortable.

"Everything I want is on the other side of my fear."

― Monick Halm.

When I was in middle school, I heard this quote from FDR that changed my life: “The only thing to fear is fear itself.”

I really took that to heart and decided to do things that scared me as often as I could (other than things that would kill me, of course). I didn’t want my fear to determine what I could and could not do.

So I developed a practice of really exercising my fear and courage muscles. Instead of walking away from things that scared me, I dove in.

In that journey, I've found that everything I want is on the other side of my fear. Some things scare me all the time, but I'm so comfortable with that feeling now, because of how often I exercise my courage muscles, that I'm like- "bring it!"

Launching a virtual event scared me, but I did it anyway. Starting an Investor Club scared me, but I did it anyway. Being interviewed on tv and big podcasts scares me, but I do it anyway. I have...

3 Steps to Building Strong Business "Relationships for Life"

One of the 3 most valuable lessons I've learned in my career as a real estate investor came from my mentor - Robert Helms. He always says that we need to "build relationships for life."

He taught me that when you approach people with a "relationships for life" philosophy, you are not just trying to get that person to do one deal with you, but you want to build a strong long-lasting relationship with that person, keep working together, and hopefully also become friends.

I have taken that advice to heart, and I always seek to build strong relationships with everyone who can bring value to my life and my business.

So how do you get into these relationships? Here are three steps to follow to establish strong business relationships:

1) Reach Out To Those Who Are Already In Your Circle of Influence

You are probably already connected to tons of great people -- likely far more than you think.

First, pull out a pad of paper and a pen and start to think about potential team...

Why Is Sisterhood So Good for Us?

There are several studies that highlight how women are biologically wired to be around other women.

One of nature’s “feel good” hormones - Oxytocin, the “bonding hormone”, is released in women’s brains in 3 instances: during sex, during breastfeeding, and when women are in groups of other women.

Our brain dumps oxytocin to tell us when something is good for us. It feels good so we will repeat it. Nature has us wired to bond with our lovers, our babies, and other women.

In a UCLA study, scientists found that when stressed, men tended to go off alone or react aggressively (“fight or flight”). Women, on the other hand, tend to their young or gather together to commiserate, cook, and be with others, usually other women (“tend and befriend”).

For women, getting together with other women is one of the healthiest and most effective forms of stress relief. It feels particularly good because of all that oxytocin that is...
